Prestatyn High Street's businesses have come out in force this year to support the Town's entry in both Wales and Britain in Bloom by displaying
posters, entering our shop window competition, theming their displays, tidying up their businesses and surrounding areas and even helping to dress
any empty shop windows.
Prestatyn is delighted to welcome Parc Prestatyn Shopping Park which was opened in March 2013.
Prestatyn shopping park have installed a living wall The living wall sits on a 100% recycled material frame incorporating organically grown media.
The system incorporates a fully automatic irrigation system to allow every area of the wall the correct amount of water. To the rear of the system
is a framework of pipes with perforations at 125mm centres linked to a water tank. The irrigation is monitored and adjusted to suit via a central
control panel which can be accessed remotely by the supplier.
The plants have been arranged in linear bands to give a contrast in colours and include ferns, shrubs, herbaceous plants and grasses. The species
used are Carex 'Frosted Curls', Polystichum polyblepharum, Heuchera 'Purple Palace', Lavandula angustifolia 'Hidcote', Uncinia rubra, Dryopteris
affinis, Bergenia cordifolia
